Tele2 IoT has entered into an agreement with Drifter World – a company that uses AI to optimize the use of parking spaces and electric vehicle charging stations. Tele2 delivers a cellular IoT connectivity solution that maximizes uptime and gives the company full control over its fleet of devices.
According to the European Parking Association, motorists spend an average of seventeen hours each year looking for a place to park their car. Drifter World is an innovative AI solution for parking and electric car charging that will provide better parking experiences and promote sustainable mobility in cities.
With Drifter’s solution, drivers don’t have to drive around looking for parking. Combining computer-controlled cameras along with a powerful AI engine, Drifter’s solution monitors entire parking lots and collects real-time data that helps find available parking spaces and EV charging spots through their app.
Together with Drifter, Tele2 IoT ensures that functionality and maximum uptime on the devices are achieved. while enabling the business to have full control over its fleet of devices, where they can understand how each device communicates and what its status is. At the same time, the connection can be restarted remotely, so that it does not have to be handled on site.
Collected data on driving and parking patterns can be shared with cities to better understand traffic flows. It can also help parking companies to optimize the use of parking lots.
“It’s purposeful and fun to work on this venture together with Drifter World. With this solution, you can reduce driving time in cities and get smarter traffic flows. We are happy to be part of that development,” says Cyril Deschanel, Managing Director at Tele2 IoT.
Environmental data is collected from all connected parking spaces, meaning Drifter World knows which car model is using a parking space, or why one parking space is used more than another, as well as air quality and noise levels.
”Tele2 IoT’s solutions give us fantastic coverage, reach, and speed. They help us enable smarter urban experiences, improve traffic, and create a more efficient and sustainable urban ecosystem,” says Fredrik Durling, CEO and founder, Drifter World.
