Founded in 2019 and based in Greater Manchester, KeySIM’s founding team consists of MD Graham Robinson and CTO James Adam, a pair of experienced IoT professionals. Venture partner and Internet Service Provider Faelix, also based in Greater Manchester, provide technical infrastructure & expertise. KeySIM serves a broad range of end users, ranging from sole traders to SME’s to multi billion revenue blue chip companies and government agencies.
Two years of development was spent building a user friendly interface, configurable 2G/3G/4G/5G data, SMS & voice options & integration tools including MQTT feeds. The team knew from first-hand experience that to create a sustainable cellular connectivity service a multi network capability was fundamental because there are so many places covered only by a selection of the four UK mobile networks available, meaning there are no signal areas on single network SIM cards which historically resulted in site visits to swap SIM cards when connectivity was lost.
Secure remote access to private IP’s and 2 way SMS capability plays an important role in allowing clients to operate IoT in the most sustainable way by removing the need for site visits to diagnose connection or security problems, which can plague remote IoT deployments.
Client acquisition followed rapidly, with KeySIM onboarding over 150 corporate customers consuming over 1,000,000MB of data per month.
A strategic partnership with boutique connectivity hub supplier Anywhere WiFi resulted in roll out for the NHS, which proved invaluable during the vaccination phase of Covid-19 by providing wide area connectivity to mobile vaccination vehicles.
