Tele2 Donates Mobile Power Generators to Ukraine

Tele2 donates seven mobile power generators to Ukraine in cooperation with the aid organization Hjärta till Hjärta (Heart to Heart) and with the support of their partners. The power plants will be used to support mobile networks, hospitals and other socially important infrastructure where the electricity has been knocked out.

After the infrastructure bombings, the lack of access to electricity in Ukraine has become a widespread problem. Several Ukrainian cities and vital social functions are without electricity supply. Tele2 is therefore donating seven of its mobile power plants that are no longer in use to Ukraine. The initiative for the support effort has been taken by an employee at Tele2.

– The need for electricity in Ukraine is enormous. Through these power plants, we can contribute concretely on site by getting mobile networks and other important infrastructure up and running, says Henric Sehlin, Field Service Technician at Tele2.

Transportation of the power plants is planned to start at the end of December from Tele2 to Lutsk Ukraine, for further distribution within the country by Ukrainian authorities. The power plants are planned to be in operation after the New Year.

– The support from Tele2 will make a concrete difference and help people in need, says Urban Widholm from the organization Hjärta till Hjärta.
