What does the future of connectivity look like?
At the end of the day, no one really cares about what kind of connectivity solution is used in the specific asset. What will happen is likely that there will be a whole myriad of different types of solutions. The real value for the customer is not that the device is connected, but that you can start understanding the information that the asset has and be able to control and manage that information.
When that realization comes into mind, everything else is really irrelevant, like the hardware or bearer service. So I think what will happen is that we will have, what we refer to as unified connectivity, meaning the ecosystem has to stay completely agnostic, being able to support the customer in the specific case they are looking for, with the quality of service that they are looking for and with the price point they are looking for.
To be able to support this, you need to be able to cater to many different types of bearer services, and that’s where Tele2 IoT is going.
